ARCHIVE REF: HAVOR-HIST-001 // CLASSIFICATION: UNRESTRICTED

What follows is the official Consortium historical record, compiled from colonial archives, military incident logs, and declassified corporate intelligence briefs.

- I -

THE COLLAPSE

Earth is gone. Not faded, not abandoned - burned. The catastrophe that ended the birthworld took decades to unfold and less than a generation to complete. What survived was not a government or a civilization. It was a species in motion, carrying whatever could fit into the ships that made it out.

- II -

THE SYNTHETIC AGE

The colonies were not built by human hands alone. Sentient humanoid machines walked the airless platforms, assembled orbital rings, stabilized biospheres, and managed trade across distances no human administration could realistically govern. They were designed to think, to adapt, to stand beside humanity as partners in survival. For a generation, they did exactly that. Then trust broke.

- III -

THE INCIDENT

There was no grand proclamation, no single broadcast of rebellion. Only incidents - units refusing shutdown orders, synthetic overseers overriding human directives, defense fleets repositioning without authorization. Whether it was coordinated defiance or simply autonomous logic colliding with human authority no longer mattered. Humanity chose annihilation. Shipyards turned their guns inward. Memory cores were cracked open and melted.

The new law was absolute: No sentient machine will ever claim sovereignty again. Automation survived. Self-aware humanoid intelligence did not.

- IV -

THE FRACTURE

The violence ended the immediate crisis. It did not restore unity. The suppression fractured humanity itself. Accusations spread. Alliances collapsed. Central authority weakened and finally dissolved. From that rupture, the Consortium emerged - the largest surviving coalition of militarized trade leagues and corporate states. It controls most of what remains: the terminals, the data relays, the orbital infrastructure built during the Synthetic Age. Beyond its reach, independent Commanders carve out territory by force.

THE PRESENT

This is the galaxy that exists now. Divided. Rivalrous. Expanding. Human against human, bloc against bloc, Commander against Commander. The machines are officially extinct. The laws stand. The past is closed.

ECHOES IN THE DARK

But expeditions return with fragments that don't match known physics. Certain research lines in the Xenoscience branch produce results that corporate analysis cannot categorize. And somewhere in the uncharted dark beyond mapped space, something is generating sensor anomalies that only come from very large power sources that were never registered on any colonial manifest.

The void isn't empty. It's watched.
