Pact Archetypes

An alliance's pact archetype is a strategic identity that shapes how XP accumulates and which perks unlock as the alliance levels up. The four archetypes each double XP from different activities - a Trade Consortium rewards members for market activity, a Military Coalition rewards combat. Choosing the right archetype for your group's playstyle multiplies the advantage.

The Four Pact Types

Trade Consortium

Focus: Market & economic output

XP is doubled for trade activity and treasury deposits. Best for alliances whose members specialize in market manipulation and resource production.

Research Syndicate

Focus: Technology acceleration

XP is doubled for research completions. Best for alliances racing to era 5 or contesting the research victory condition.

Military Coalition

Focus: Combat & fleet operations

XP is doubled for combat victories and fleet launches. Best for alliances that win through coordinated military dominance.

Hegemony

Focus: Dominance & tribute

XP is doubled for member recruitment and tribute collection. Best for large alliances that absorb smaller players and extract tribute through wars.

All nine XP event types grant base XP to the alliance. The pact archetype doubles the relevant sources:

Changing Pacts

A Founder can change the pact archetype once every 7 days. Changing archetypes costs 50% of current XP - the level does not drop, but the progress toward the next level is halved. Plan pact selection before the alliance reaches higher levels.
