Crisis Events

Crisis Events are server-wide emergencies that require collective effort from all active players to resolve. Each crisis unfolds across narrative phases, offers faction-specific response choices, and concludes with galaxy-wide consequences based on whether the collective target was met.

Crisis Types

Five distinct crisis types can occur throughout a season, each with a unique contribution metric and narrative context:

LabelContribution MetricDuration
Rogue AI FleetFleet power deployed to the crisis zone72 hours
Supernova WaveResources contributed to evacuation efforts72 hours
Dimensional RiftResearch points invested72 hours
Void HarbingerCombined fleet power + research investment96 hours
Stellar CollapseResources contributed across all three types96 hours

The server selects the next crisis from the rotation, scaling the target value based on the number of active players at announcement time.

Narrative Phases

A crisis progresses through four phases:

PhaseDescription
Announced24-hour advance notice. The incoming crisis is visible on the dashboard but contributions are not yet open.
ActiveThe contribution window is open. The shared progress bar increments in real time as players act.
ResolvedThe collective target was met before the deadline - the galaxy succeeded. Rewards are distributed.
FailedTime ran out without meeting the target. Failure debuffs apply to all players for 48 hours.

Faction Alignment

During the active phase, each crisis offers two response approaches reflecting different faction philosophies:

  • Militant Approach - Deploy fleet power and take direct military action. Preferred by the Iron Covenant faction.
  • Scientific Approach - Invest research and engineering resources to engineer a solution. Preferred by the Stellar Accord faction.

Both approaches contribute toward the same shared progress total - the distinction affects the flavor of rewards you receive (resource type and composition), not the raw amount.

Contribution Tiers

Individual contributions are tracked and bucketed into tiers that determine medal rewards:

TierContribution ThresholdReward
GoldTop 10% of contributorsPremium resource pack + 100 Season XP + Gold Crisis Medal
SilverTop 25% of contributorsStandard resource pack + 60 Season XP + Silver Crisis Medal
BronzeAny positive contributionBase resource pack + 40 Season XP + Bronze Crisis Medal

Tier thresholds are calculated at resolution time based on the distribution of contributions across all participants. Even a small contribution secures a Bronze reward if the crisis succeeds.

Rewards on Success

Resource packs distributed on a successful resolution:

CrisisMetalCrystalDeuterium
Rogue AI Fleet200,000150,00050,000
Supernova Wave500,000300,000100,000
Dimensional Rift300,000200,00080,000
Void Harbinger400,000300,000120,000
Stellar Collapse600,000400,000150,000

Gold and Silver contributors receive multiplied versions of these base packs (Gold: ×1.5, Silver: ×1.2).

Failure Debuff

If the crisis expires without reaching its target, all players suffer a production debuff for 48 hours:

  • All resource production reduced by 20%
  • Players who contributed a meaningful amount still receive a consolation Bronze reward

Alliance Coordination Bonus

If three or more members of the same alliance contribute to the same crisis within the same 6-hour window, their combined contribution receives a +15% bonus applied automatically. This encourages coordinated multi-player pushes during the active phase.

Late-Game Gate

Two of the five crisis types - Void Harbinger and Stellar Collapse - are late-game locked. They only enter the rotation after at least one player in the galaxy has reached:

  • Era 4 research in at least two branches (Void Harbinger)
  • Era 5 research in at least one branch (Stellar Collapse)

These crises feature harder targets, longer durations, and proportionally greater rewards.
