Territory Control
Every planet you own radiates an influence zone. Controlling territory provides fleet bonuses and shapes how the galaxy map is painted.
Influence Zones
Each player-owned planet projects an influence zone with a radius of approximately 150 world units. This zone is visualized on the galaxy map as a colored overlay. Any system that falls within your zone is considered own territory - even if you have no planet in that specific system.
The zone radius does not scale with building levels or research. Owning more planets simply means more zones, potentially merging into a contiguous empire.
Zone Types
Space within your influence zone, not overlapping any enemy zone. Grants a speed bonus and cheaper fuel.
Space within an enemy player's zone and outside your own. Fleets move slower and burn more fuel here.
Multiple overlapping influence zones from different players. Shown with overlapping colored rings on the galaxy map.
Fleet Modifiers
| Zone | Fleet Speed | Fuel Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Own Territory | +10% | no change |
| Neutral Space | baseline | baseline |
| Enemy Territory | -15% | +25% |
| Contested Zone | depends on ownership | depends on ownership |
Galaxy Map Visualization
- Own zones - displayed as a soft colored halo around your systems using your player color.
- Enemy zones - displayed in the enemy player's assigned color.
- Contested zones - show overlapping colored indicators from each owner. The overlap region is clearly distinct from single-owner zones.
- Zones are recalculated on every galaxy map load and update in real time as planets are colonized or conquered.
